Matthew

So yesterday's post was all about Jonathan and today it is all about Matthew. Matthew who I can't believe is 3 years old. Time sure does go by quickly. I read somewhere yesterday that there are only 900 weeks of childhood... not sure if that is a true statement but when you look at it that way it doesn't seem like much time at all. It really is so important to cherish every single moment you have with your children. Since he is under the weather at the moment I thought it would be a great time to do a little interview with him. I am hoping to keep the interview up as he grows so I can see how his answers change... Here are some of the questions I asked him and his true responses. I barely had to prompt him which was surprising.
Matthew 3 Year Old Interview
1. What is your favorite color? Blue, red and black
2. What is your favorite toy? Cars
3. What is your favorite movie? Thomas the Train
4. What is your favorite thing to eat? Rice and Chicken with potatoes and carrots
5. What is your favorite snack? goldfish
6. What is your favorite game? Cars
7. What is your favorite sport? kicking (I am pretty sure he meant soccer since I signed up and he will be starting to play later this month!)
8. What is your favorite animal? Giraffe
9. Where is your favorite place to go? to the zoo
10. What is your favorite thing to do with Daddy? Play cars with him
11. What is your favorite thing to do with Mommy? Read books
12. Where does daddy work? Far Away
13. Where does mommy work? school
14. What is your favorite thing about Jonathan? He plays with me...I love JJ
15. What do you pray about? Mimi and Papa and Tio
16. Where does Jesus live? in God's house
While I was asking him all these questions he was playing with his play-doh and as we are finishing up he said these things I thought I would add:
I like to play ball with Lala
I like to watch Dino Dan with Papa because he has the show on his iPad
I like to play with Mimi
And there you have it... That's Matthew... he is a goofy and at times strong willed. He loves to play and learn. He has been learning to write his name at Lala's house which I tell him its just like going to school (it really is, she has turned her home into a classroom) which is great because he is learning alot and he will be super ready when we do homeschool!
Here is a picture of my big boy. He was playing outside last weekend with David and they found a little frog whom Matthew kept calling his best friend. I despise frogs but being the great mommy photographer that I am, I ran to get the camera and took one of my favorite shots of him!

Jonathan's First Haircut

Well 2 Sunday's ago we finally gave in and took JJ for his first haircut... I didn't really want to because he looked so stinking cute with the curls like this wild child.. it was great but whenever we went places some people would ask if he was a girl...even though he wears blue most of the time with things like "Mommy's little boy" written on his shirts anyways we took him in and he had his first haircut. What a traumatic experience for him. He started well, sat down on the car (chair), watched the little video they put on but as soon as she put the cape on he started crying and didn't stop until it was all over. This was a totally new experience for David and me since when Matthew got his first haircut there was not a tear in sight! Its amazing how different they are! Now Jonathan looks like a little boy. Very sad for mommy since of course I want to keep him as a baby as long as I can! But he is quickly growing and becoming more adventurous/mischievous yes, he is our little hurricane. He can turn our living room upside down in a matter of seconds. He doesn't stop! His new thing is leaping from the couch. He definitely is a goofball like his brother and like any siblings they love to fight with each other! Well here are some photos from Jonathan's first haircut!

Summertime...

The summer is in full swing, I am so grateful that the community pool is finally finished because we (the boys and I) have definitely been taking advantage of it. Matthew LOVES the pool and even JJ enjoys it. I love it because afterwards the boys take the most amazing naps! As long as I keep them busy and out in the sun this mommy is happy! This summer is not only about fun but I have also been doing some letter practice with Matthew. We are focusing on the letters in his name. He knows most of them but still gets confused. He seems to enjoy it and goes around looking for the letter we have learned in the stories we read. This gives me great practice for when we start homeschooling! I am super excited for that venture to begin! But in the meantime believe it or not I have already started getting some little things ready for school... I mean really little... this summer truly is about not thinking about school and actually having fun with the kids and some family time here and there when David is off. Well I hope everyone does something fun for the 4th of July!

Boys Birthdays!

Here are some pics of both the boys birthdays...its really hard to imagine that Matthew has turned 3 years old. He has become quite the character! And my little peanut (I know David says he is too big to be called peanut (not age wise but actual size!!) but that's what he will be to his mommy!) JJ has turned 1 years old.. it seems like only yesterday we were at the hospital having him. Its amazing how time really flies. It really is so important to cherish every single moment with them even the bad ones :)
