It's T-Ball Time...

Tomorrow Matthew will encounter the world of baseball...okay t-ball but to him it's baseball. When he found out he was playing he immediately said he wanted to watch baseball on tv with daddy...that's kind of cool since most of the time when David watches sports Matthew doesn't last very long but lately he lingers on a bit longer... So we shall see how it goes tomorrow. Its supposed to be cold (yes cold for Florida) and rainy so we shall see how it goes! Hopefully I can download the photos tomorrow and upload them to the blog so be on the look out!

A New Year....

So I know it has been a while... I'm trying to blog from my iPad and see how this works...maybe it will get me to post more often! Well January was awful... It was definitely our sick month. We were all sick it started with David, trickled to the boys who got it really bad then me with the flu and back to the boys and David... Yeah, no bueno... But thank God we seem to be healthy again and hopefully we remain that way.

Just a quick update... on life here at the Deffenbaugh's:

Our new niece was born today!!! Welcome to the world Sofia!! We can't wait to meet her in person!

Our boys are doing great and getting so big! Matthew just went to the Monster Jam Truck Show with David and LOVED every minute. Jonathan is our little tornado... He just doesn't stop... His favorite word is NO :) yep we are in that stage.

David is still enjoying his training and work, and me I'm still at school and now working at church as well. I will be working on Sundays and Wednesdays in the children's ministry which they call Red Jr. which is considered the nursery part of the Red Ministries.... I'm excited since it was an answer to my prayers... I'm not making millions mind you but every little bit will help as we save for when I finish my journey with the school district next year and begin the new journey of homeschooling. I'm excited! I'm also hoping to experiment a bit more with photography which is another passion of mine and who knows maybe eventually it will make me some money!

Well I must go to bed but will hopefully blog very soon!

I know it has been a while... for now I will leave you with some photos and hopefully later I can at least let you know what we have been up to now :) Now Jonathan has woken up from his nap so I really must stop typing and go!

First Soccer Game

Today was Matthew's first soccer game! The weather was perfect it was windy with a chill in the air. So no sweating for us! I must admit I wasn't sure what to expect when we arrived. There were kids everywhere playing soccer but the little kids were definitely the funniest. Matthew's team is called the Cougars. They play and practice on the same day which is great for us! His coach name is Coach Chad and he had all the patience in the world with these kids...
Matthew has been looking forward to the whole idea of playing soccer for a while. So he was ready to put the "too long" shorts on. He wasn't ready however to put on the shin guards/socks (which were too big on him) That was interesting this morning but after he saw everyone wearing them he was totally fine! His jersey is way too big for him so I need to figure out how to make it shorter before the next game! He is definitely one of the youngest kids in the team and one of the shortest. He wanted to be the only one kicking the ball and kept going after it... so hopefully this will teach him how to share with others.
Watching them was hilarious...they were running all over the place, one little boy kept doing cartwheels, another one kept pulling his shirt up to show everyone his belly, a little girl stopped to pick a flower and another one cried when they didn't make a goal and they kept running into the other field... I laughed most of the time definitely a great time! At the end of it all they didn't win although they don't really keep score everything is just about fun. The coach gives out this "medals" at the end of the game for good sportmanship (aka plastic gold medals) Matthew of course wanted one so as he went to bed tonight he tells me "Mama I am going to get that gold medal" at least he is determined and has a goal... which made me whisper a quick prayer as I hugged him please Lord let him keep this trait of determination as he grows into an adult.
David took video so hopefully we can upload one of those sometime this week! For now enjoy some of the photos I took today!
