We are still here!

Yeah it has been a while since I have blogged... life has been good but busy! For those of you who haven't heard we are expecting baby number 2 in June! We are excited! I am feeling great just super tired. As soon as Matthew goes to bed I want to crash, and sometimes I do! Matthew is getting big. He is talking a lot more now. Looking at him sometimes I am amazed at how fast he is growing. He loves his daddy like crazy and misses him when he is not home. He points to every picture and calls out to him. Its sweet. He loves playing with Sadie which he calls good girl (even when she is not being so good..) He loves watching 2 main shows.. Dino Dan and the Fresh Beat Band on Nick Jr. It really is amazing how big he has gotten and all he has learned so far. He doesn't really understand yet that there is a baby coming. He points to himself when we ask where is the baby. And who can blame him.. he still is our baby!

David is doing well with work...although he prays daily that this is the last holiday he spends with Verizon. We shall see... it would be nice to have him in a regular schedule where we can see him at night and during the weekends!

School for me is going okay... I have one kid that is a handful and has been suspended a couple of times.. so he definitely tests me but I count the days when we have a day off or a break... like next week is our last week before winter break and then 2 weeks of freedom! Can't wait!

Well you are caught up... I promise to continue writing more often!

Road Trip 2010

Wow I have not blogged in forever....What a summer it has been.. it feels like it has been super short and for me it is almost over. School begins on the 16th for teachers and I am actually heading back earlier to begin getting my room ready without the stress of meetings! A few weeks ago we went on a road trip all the way to Poughkeepsie, NY. I must be honest although I was totally for doing this road trip I was also very concerned that it would turn into a flop for us with Matthew being so young.. but he did great! He was a great traveler... the only issues we had were on the way there when we stopped at the hotel in South Carolina he did not sleep at all until 4 am... and on the way back the hotel did not have a pack-n-play so David stayed up with him until 3 and then finally they slept. Those were our only 2 bumps on the road. We made a whole trip without any driving tickets (woohoo!!) so that was a bonus. The drive was great.. beautiful to see mountains, not so great for David when he saw traffic! New York was warm but had very nice nights which is completely opposite to Florida. So it was a nice change of scenery for us. We did a lot in just one week and although we were exhausted by the end of it we really did enjoy every single moment! I would do it again! There is so much to tell but I am not. I will not bore you with words but rather entertain you with photos... so here they are!

Matthew & Daddy

Well I have to take Matthew to the doctor's tomorrow. Nothing serious (I pray). He has been coughing for a while and yesterday the extreme yellow runny nose started so I need to get him checked. He seems fine though. No fever, very energetic and great appetite. So I am praying is just a common cold. Unlike his daddy who has walking pneumonia. David has been coughing up his lungs for a while now. I believe he has another doctor's appointment this coming week. I hope he gets better soon also. So keep us in your prayers.

Here are some of the photos we took for Matthew's and David's birthday. This week I should receive the ones taken at the actual birthday party. So I will post those then! Until then enjoy!!

Sea World and Siesta Key Beach

Well we went to Sea World on Friday for the very first time. I still can't believe I have lived here in Florida for so long and never been to it. It was fun. David got to ride at least one roller coaster and we got to see a show. It was nice to just walk around and spend time together. Matthew even had a good time at the splash zone.. granted it took him a while to get used it but he finally did.

On Saturday we woke up early and headed to our friends house Pete and Melissa and ate breakfast with them then headed to the beach. We went to Siesta Key. The sand is so soft there but even then Matthew refused to even put his feet on it. It took him a very long time to even touch the water without crying. Finally at the end he started enjoying it!

It't been a while....

Spring Break is finally here and what a great time I have had not having to wake up bright and early to head off to school. As much as I enjoy teaching this is the part of the year when we are all dying for summer to arrive! So far in my Spring Break I have relaxed, cleaned, played with Matthew, ran errands and cleaned some more. I have also been planning Matthew's and David's birthday party. I am attempting to make their own cakes... we shall see how that goes. We may end up having cake from a baker or David's second choice of cheesecake from the Cheesecake factory. I will keep you updated on how the cake making goes. This is the only week I have to practice since its a whole week off that I have! David has been working this week but Matthew and I are eagerly awaiting the end of today because David will have the next three days off and we can do things together as a family. So far we plan on going to Sea World, the air show and perhaps we can sneak in a trip to Busch Gardens! I love having our annual passes! This will be a fun summer!

Well it has been a while since I posted any photos so I am going to post his 9 - 10 month old photos... Matthew is 11 months old now.. hard to believe my little boy is that big. Walking all over the place and getting more talkative(babbling really!.. but boy he is loud!) He has 6 teeth now..well 2 of them are still coming in. He eats everything in sight. He is definitely fun to be around and so stinkin cute!

Well until next time.. hopefully it is sooner than later!

Kids Say the Craziest Things...

So today in my classroom we were talking about how everyone is different, different heights, sizes, color, hair...etc... One of the more outspoken boys turns around and says: "Mrs. D did you see that Yulyel has hair on the top of his lip just like my daddy?" Now Yulyel is my only Hispanic boy in the classroom and the oldest but so young in mind and heart that this comment did not bother him... So I responded.. what do you mean? And Max continued to say... well he has hair on his lip like my daddy does a couple of days after he shaves.. why don't I? I had no response but Yulyel did.. he simply said, Max don't you know anything? It's because I am older than you and I eat all my food at lunch... So there you have it ladies and gentleman.. Eat all your food at lunch and you also will have hair on your upper lip!
I love being a Kindergarten Teacher... the conversations I hear!
