It't been a while....

Spring Break is finally here and what a great time I have had not having to wake up bright and early to head off to school. As much as I enjoy teaching this is the part of the year when we are all dying for summer to arrive! So far in my Spring Break I have relaxed, cleaned, played with Matthew, ran errands and cleaned some more. I have also been planning Matthew's and David's birthday party. I am attempting to make their own cakes... we shall see how that goes. We may end up having cake from a baker or David's second choice of cheesecake from the Cheesecake factory. I will keep you updated on how the cake making goes. This is the only week I have to practice since its a whole week off that I have! David has been working this week but Matthew and I are eagerly awaiting the end of today because David will have the next three days off and we can do things together as a family. So far we plan on going to Sea World, the air show and perhaps we can sneak in a trip to Busch Gardens! I love having our annual passes! This will be a fun summer!

Well it has been a while since I posted any photos so I am going to post his 9 - 10 month old photos... Matthew is 11 months old now.. hard to believe my little boy is that big. Walking all over the place and getting more talkative(babbling really!.. but boy he is loud!) He has 6 teeth now..well 2 of them are still coming in. He eats everything in sight. He is definitely fun to be around and so stinkin cute!

Well until next time.. hopefully it is sooner than later!

Kids Say the Craziest Things...

So today in my classroom we were talking about how everyone is different, different heights, sizes, color, hair...etc... One of the more outspoken boys turns around and says: "Mrs. D did you see that Yulyel has hair on the top of his lip just like my daddy?" Now Yulyel is my only Hispanic boy in the classroom and the oldest but so young in mind and heart that this comment did not bother him... So I responded.. what do you mean? And Max continued to say... well he has hair on his lip like my daddy does a couple of days after he shaves.. why don't I? I had no response but Yulyel did.. he simply said, Max don't you know anything? It's because I am older than you and I eat all my food at lunch... So there you have it ladies and gentleman.. Eat all your food at lunch and you also will have hair on your upper lip!
I love being a Kindergarten Teacher... the conversations I hear!

Matthew and Busch Gardens...

So this past Saturday we went to Busch Gardens despite my horrible stomach ache... and the constant want for a bathroom! The stomach bug has been going around and of course I needed to catch it! Its starting to get better.. anyways we went to Busch Gardens and got passes to all parks so now we can go anytime we want! We went with our friends Melissa and Pete and their one year old girl Terissa. While the boys rode on the roller coasters we took the kids to the carousel. I expected Matthew to not like but he really enjoyed it. He held on to the pole (I was right next to him holding him) and squealed with delight everytime the horse went up and down! Do I have any photos... unfortunately no..BUT we will be going back this next Saturday so I will snap a photo then.

Matthew...

So for the past couple of weeks Matthew has been standing for a few seconds on his own without holding on to anything...but now he stands on his own for a good minute.. When I went to pick him up at Leah's today which is the lady that takes care of him while we are at work she told me this story: She fed the kids their lunch, Matthew sits on the Bumbo with a tray to eat his lunch. She gave him his bottle there while she had the kids get ready for naptime... when she came back Matthew had climbed out of the Bumbo and was standing in the middle of the kitchen drinking his bottle.... David and I know that this is then end.. we think he gets into stuff now... he will VERY soon be walking and will get into everything!! The joys of parenthood!! Matthew is growing so fast and we are enjoying every minute!

What a Year!

2009 will come to an end in a few hours so I would like to take a moment and reflect on the past year and what a great year it has been. So here is what we have been up to...

* David ~ This year David became a dad, and although he doesn't realize it he is a great dad to Matthew. He also got the job as an Assistant Manager at his store and has applied for an Assistant Manager position at another store. We are praying that God will continue to guide his steps regarding his job. We are very thankful that in this crazy economy we have jobs to go to.

* Matthew - is now 7 months old! Everyday he gets more active and more vocal. He is crawling all over the place. It is hard to keep up with him. He is also pulling himself up much quicker. We think that he will be walking sooner than later. Just 2 weeks ago he started cutting his first bottom tooth. It has not been that fun but this too shall pass. We can't believe how fast he is growing. We love him very much and pray that he will be a great man of God as he grows up.

* Sadie - well she is a big scaredy cat.. but she still loves to get in trouble at times. She goes after Matthew's toys and loves to give him sloppy kisses. She loves to cuddle in bed with me when David is not in it.

* Kelly - As for me this past year has definitely been one of change. Matthew arrived in May and what a beautiful twist he brought into our lives. I returned back to work with the grade I love in the school I started as an assistant. Although I love Kindergarten but I still miss Matthew when I am away. We are so blessed to have him in a good home while we are both at work. I look forward to school breaks so I can spend time with him and David.

Overall it was a great year. We got to experience parenthood for the first time, we experienced our first flight with Matthew and saw David's family for Thanksgiving, we had a wonderful Christmas and now a New Year awaits us. We can't wait for the many blessings God has in store for us as a family and for us individually.

May God's Blessing Surround You this upcoming New Year!

7 months old..

Here is an update on us...

Our little boy is 7 months old today.. gosh time seems like its flying! He is getting so big. Last time he was at the doctor he weighed 17lbs. He likes to move around like crazy... we put him down on the living floor and before you know it he is in the kitchen. It has been interesting putting the Christmas tree up. He wants to get into everything and pull things down. David and I are going to invest in a gate to go around the tree for both Matthew and Sadie to stay out!

David is finally doing well, he is getting over a sinus and ear infection he got right as we got home from Thanksgiving Break. He had an interview today for an Assistant Manager position at the Wesley Chapel store which is actually closer to home. So we are praying that God will open the door if that is His will.

Me, well Thanksgiving Break was wonderful! I loved having the whole week off! Now I am awaiting the Christmas Break. School is good. The kiddos are doing pretty good. It is now testing time so I have been busy testing all my students and checking to see where they are at. Hopefully they will all make it.

I can't believe its almost Christmas.. I can't wait. This is definitely my favorite holiday! Thanksgiving is my favorite food holiday but Christmas.. Ahh.. I love everything about it.. decorating, the music.. the wonderful cookies I should not be eating so I don't gain weight!! Anyways.. I just saw the time and the battery life on the laptop and its time for me to head to bed. So good night all! I will post photos of Matthew sometime this weekend!
